The Keeper's House committee is filled with dedicated
volunteers who work in many ways. There are many hours spent
making repairs, setting up for events, cleaning up after events, mowing
the lawn, and trimming the trees. We meet regularly to discuss what needs
to be done in order to insure that guests of the Keeper's House (you!)
have an informative and fun visit.Unfortunately some of our obligations are financial and can't be "volunteered" away. They include mortgage payments on the property, the cost of getting together a brochure each year, and paying utilities and taxes. Our visitors, local businesses, and members of the historical society have been very generous with their monetary gifts over the past several years. Without them many of the positive changes made at the Keeper's House could never have happened. Our future depends on the kindness and generosity of all those who see the importance of protecting our country's historic treasures. If you would care to be a contributor to our efforts here at the Keeper's House, please use the form below. You may fill in as many or as few of the fields as you like. Print the form and mail it to the address below. The Keeper's House is duly registered with the I.R.S. as a charitable and educational non-profit organization. Contributions are tax deductible but remember to fill out the form completely and include it with your donation in order to receive a reply with our thanks and a receipt for tax purposes. No matter how small, your contribution helps us and is greatly appreciated.
Some of the ways in which your donation will be used include: Organizing and implementing field trip classrooms at the Keeper's House for students in local elementary and high schools, helping to ease the burden of the costs mentioned above, ongoing historic restoration including purchasing period furniture and other artifacts for the house, and procurement of professional services including professional speakers, antique appraisers, musicians and actors for our events through summer at the Keeper's House and at various historical society meetings throughout the year. The Keepers House would like to thank all current and past contributors: (Too many to mention at any one time, but that's a good thing!)
